Immigrants Replace English Founders in Montreal
This is a translation of a French article entitled "Quelle est la langue de votre quartier?" [PDF attached] by Marie Cicchini, published in Actualités CDN-NDG on 28 November 2012 at page 9 in the Community section.

For example, this chart shows that all around the Côte-des-Neiges cemetery it is the Arabic language that dominates most of Côte-des-Neiges.
Tagal (tagalog or philipino), the official language of the Philippines, is now the predominant language of immigration in the Snowdon area. While Russian delimits the neighboring districts in the quadrangle bounded by Décarie Boulevard, Côte-Saint-Catherine Road, Victoria Avenue and Queen Mary Road. Surrounding the Arabic areas there are the Greek, the Yiddish, the Spanish, the Italian, the Rumanian, and the Persan neighborhoods, etc.

FC1867 Comments: According to this map, the neighborhood where I was born and grew up, and which was an English neighborhood from its origins, is now Italian, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese. There is no word for this except genocide of the English founding peoples in Quebec, who were THE majority in Montreal before Pearson-Trudeau began their anti-national immigration to eliminate Canada.
From the post-war period which left Europe devastated in 1945 to the new waves of immigration from the East and from South Asia, immigration has changed and is ceaselessly redrawing the face of whole regions.
